This page covers practical issues you may hit while using the current Kota product experience.
I cannot access Kota after joining the waitlist
- Make sure you used the email address where you want early access updates.
- Check your inbox for launch or invitation messages.
- Kota may not have opened access to your account yet.
I cannot access the app after receiving access
- Check that you completed the email confirmation step if it is required.
- Make sure you are using the same account you signed up with.
- If you were testing another account, sign out and log back into your own account.
I cannot find my home profile
- If you have not created a home profile yet, you may be sent through onboarding first.
- If your account is still in early access, some setup flows may not be available yet.
- Refreshing after account changes can help if your session is stale.
My maintenance tasks do not look specific enough
- Add more detail to your home profile where you can.
- Check whether the task depends on a system, appliance, or surface you have not added yet.
- Remember that Kota will become more precise as the product and guide library expand.
My tasks or profile updates do not appear right away
- Refresh the page after a major change.
- Confirm you are signed into the account connected to your home profile.
- If the update still does not appear, try again later or contact support from the footer.
I am not sure whether Kota is ready for my whole home yet
That is okay. Start small:
- add the details you already know
- focus on safety and recurring maintenance first
- improve the profile as you learn more about the house
Early product note
Kota is still early. If a flow feels unfinished, the best path is usually to keep your profile simple and focus on the maintenance reminders that matter most right now.
